Highlights from the May 3, 2008

UTNROTC Alumni Foundation Board Meeting

· The current Alumni Operating Fund balance is $7,250.97.

· The Gifts Committee initiatives are going well. An individual has pledged to match contributions to the Midshipman’s Foundation for the next five years up to a maximum of $50,000 per year.

· The Midshipman’s Foundation has a balance of $651,879. The scholarships and awards budget for 2008 is $34,700.

· The Active Membership Campaign is focusing on contact through the local Texas Exes Chapters and other organizations with an emphasis on camaraderie.

· The Alumni Histories Project with WWII veteran interviews is continuing.

· The War Veterans Tax Exemption Committee will continue to research the issue and report at the next Board Meeting.

· The Alumni KIA Plaque Committee is in the process of verifying names and dates.

· The Nominating Committee composed of Dan O’Neil, Bob Gartner and Spencer Smith is soliciting volunteers and prospective candidates to fill four Board positions.

· The planning for the November 8, 2008 Reunion is in progress.
